Testimony

I had a personal dream, and it was to become the director of a fortune 100 company. For that I spent a lot of my personal time in education. I completed an Engineering degree, and got a promotion to a professional level in the company I used to work for. At that time I started a life of worldly pleasures. My life was empty and without a real meaningful goal, until the Lord saved my soul convicting me of my sin and showing me His way. It was in August 1998, after living a continuous and conscientious sinful life, without considering God at all, the Lord brought me to the understanding I was a sinner and needed His help, protection and forgiveness. I had never read the Bible, but heard about the Gospel probably a couple times before God brought me into sin conviction. This happened in a hotel room in the town of Georgetown, Kentucky while I was doing business travelling. The Lord brought me to a very strong conviction that I was a sinner and needed to know Him. In that day, tears came out as I thought of my sinful life and how I was slaved to it. In my way back from Kentucky to Mexico, God took care of all the details. I met a co-worker at the airport when trying to catch a connecting flight, he was also coming back from a business trip. He sat just across the hall, next to my seat. He talked to me about the Lord, and when I asked about Bible classes for beginners, he made me an invitation to come and visit a Baptist Church where he was the new believers Sunday school teacher. I told my wife about this invitation, and next Sunday we were there at the Baptist Church looking for that man to listen to the Bible class. In that place, after the class, he questioned me and then led me to the Lord Jesus, and I received Him as the Savior of my soul. This happened in the city of Matamoros Tamaulipas, Mexico, just across the Brownsville Texas border. Until this day, I still marveled at how God has aligned everything in my life. After being save by God's grace, in 2000, I was sent by the company to an international assignment, working in the States as Customer Support Engineer for one of its customers. Since the customer, a car builder company, was located in the town of Georgetown, Kentucky I decided to live in that town. The Lord had His own plans for me and my family, and used our stayed in KY to teach us the Doctrines of Grace and other fundamental doctrines. By the end of my international assignment, I continuously thought about serving the Lord as a proclaimer of His Gospel, but I tried to go away from those thoughts since I wanted to make sure my heart and intention was right before God. I have to confess that those thoughts about serving the Lord were so strong that several times I ended in tears. When we returned to Mexico (the Mexican border with Texas), in 2002, the company promoted me to a mid-management level. I tried to serve the Lord in any way I could, but also continued with secular education and finished an Engineering Master Degree. I was making progress in my professional life, but emptiness in the professional field was the end of my thoughts. I found no contentment on what I was doing, the Lord kept a burden on my heart for preaching and teaching the Word of God to others. While in the States, I realized about the great need of sound teaching of the Word of God in Mexico. I wanted others to come and teach the Word of God in Mexico. It was finally in May 2007 when I fully realized the Lord was calling me to do it, and so I surrendered to preach His gospel. I was ordained to the ministry, authorized and sent to do missionary work by Bryan Station Baptist Church in November 2007. What a marvelous God! What a merciful Savior! He still brings sinners to light and uses them to proclaim His Word and the glorious gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
